There is an entry for Lighthorne [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SP3355/lighthorne/] [accessed 8 January 2015]; it mentions a priest, but not a church in it, though there probably was one there. The Victoria County History (Warwick, vol. 5, 1949) notes: "The west tower was rebuilt in 1771 and the remainder of the church in 1875–6 [...] The fittings are modern except for a 17th-century plain chest in the tower, and there is some reset ancient stained glass." The earliest date mentioned in the VCH entry (ibid.) as related to the original church here is the valuation of this church in 1291. English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP3354356019] (1967) reports an "Octagonal font with attached shafts" in this church, but gives no date for it [NB: the present font is most likely dated to the latest re-building of this church in the 1870s].
