Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1961) as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the mid-13th century of a design unique to eastern Norway and western Sweden. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [930706F4] as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the late 13th century; the SHM entry further notes that the base of this font has significant similarities to decoration on Starrkärrsgruppen fonts, but on those it is usually the basin that bears them. The font consists of a plain hemispherical basin raised on a round pedestal base and splaying circular lower base; the stem is decorated with a roll moulding atop, and a pattern of piping or ribs all around; the lower base has also a roll moulding at the top, while the upper surface of the roundel is carved in a scalloped pattern that containg foliated motis, including one identified in the SHM entry as a Tree of Life.
