Noted in Hallbäck (1961). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930707F4] as a monolithic baptismal font of the mid-13th century probably made of gneiss. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a recessed arcade arches below a flat moulding; inside the arches are a variety of motifs and symbols, among which, crosses with human heads, an angel, standing fuman figures, floral motiifs, etc.; on a round slightly splaying base decorated with a thick rope moulding at the centre ring position, thinner rope mouldings forming panels on the sides. On a modern lower base. The font, which had been covered in a gray oil paint [="grå oljefärg"], was restored in 1955 by Thorbjorn Engblad, of Alingsas [cf. ImagesArea]. There is no font cover present. The font is seen located in early photographs in the northeast corner, by the pulpit -obviously not its original location- but it was later moved to the southeast side now ca. 2020].
