Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1961) as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the 13th century, part of a series by the Norwegian so-called 'Østfold-Markerna-skolan'. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930511F1] as a baptismal font made of soapstone ca. 1200, part of the "Dalslandsgruppen". The font consists of a roughly cylindrical basin decorated with rope moulding around the upper and lower rims, with the same motive used for vertical divisions of the basin into otherwise blank panels; plain rounded underbowl with very short stem; on a lower base which matches approximately the thickness of the stem, and widens considerably below. It is obvious that there is a part of the stem missing, and the height of the font has been supplemented with the addition of a modern [early-20th century] lower base that includes a volume with the well-known phrase 'Suffer little children...' in Swedish: "Låten barnen komma till mig", in prominent black lettering all around. No font cover present.
