Noted and illustrated in Montelius & Brusewitz (1878) as a baptismal font consisting of a cylindrical basin raised on a round pedestal base; the sides of the basin are decorated with a stylised acanthus vine; leaves appear on the rounded upper part of the stem, which splays lower down. Noted in Hallbäck (1961) as a baptismal font made towards the middle or late 13th century, consisting of a cylindrical basin of mica-rich gray gneiss [= "glimmerrik grå gnejs"] decorated with acanthus loops in la flat relief, raised on a base of soapstone [cf. infra] decorated with lilies and ribons; similar to the font at Jörlanda; the author describes the work as clumsy, made by fairly unskilled carvers [= "De är båda klumpigt utförda av relativt enkla funtmakare"]. Noted and ilustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900513F1] as a baptismal font of the first half of the 13th century, the cup made of gneiss stone, the pedestal of limestone; the SHM entry suggests similarities with the font at Jörlanda [SHM ref.: 930513F2 ]. Photographs from 1919 and 1932 [cf. ImagesArea] show the medieval font located in the northeast corner, by the pulpit; it is now [ca. 2020] located on the opposte side, in the southeast corner.
