Country Name: Sweden
Location: Skåne, Skåne län

Ecclesiastic Region: Lunds Stift

Font Location in Church: Inside the old church
Century and Period: 13th century, Late Romanesque
Church Notes: the old church dates from the 12thC; abandoned in 1887 when the new church was built, the old church was re-built in 1920 and re-dedicated in 1928 -- the new church is hardly used for service anymore
Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921) as a font sharing some similarities with those of the 'Munkarpsgruppen', and gives the then location as Lunds universitet historiska museet [NB: the font may have been returned to the old church after the building was restored in the 1920s]. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900517F4] as a crude provincial font made of sandstone in the 13th century; it consists of an irregular quadrangular basin with tapering sides chamfered at the corners, raised on a round-to-square base, the upper part a roll moulding; it has a general shape of an hourglass, as noted in Brunius [cf. supra]. No cover present. The article on the old church by Thordeman (1927) does not mention a font in it. [NB: a later font from this church is said locally to have been sold to Östra Broby Kyrka ca, 1932.]
