Joost Limburg, of www.romanicoportugal.org, writes (e-mail to BSI of 16 December 2014): "The church is very late romanesque, if not early gothic. Inside there's a plain font". As seen from the nave the font appears to consist of a hemispherical basin of light brown coarse granite, decorated with a simple flat moulding at the upper rim; raised on an octagonal pedestal base, also made of granite but lighter in colour. There is a flat and plain wooden cover of modern date. The distance view of the font hides the back of the basin, which may either be built into the back wall, or actually be only a partial hemisphere set against the wall; the inner basin has a cemented partition roughly across the middle, surely a later addition, and one of the sides appears to have been cut off to fit it into the tight spot in the tiled enclosure that serves as baptistery.
