The object consists of a roughly cylindrical basin of coarse granite deeply carved with a roll moulding and two rows of what appears to be a crude attempt at crenellation or ribbing below; it stands on a roughly cylindrical stem, and a square lower base or plinth, both also of granite. This item is located by the entranceway and is now used as a holy-water stoup. Our local source, Joost Limburg [www.romanicoportugal.info] [e-mail of 10 December 2014], commented: "it looks rather big for a stoup (about 50cm diameter), especially for such a small village church, and also the decoration is not what you usually see. But then it isn't usual for a font either... The bottom is covered with plaster, I couldn't find a draining hole (but not 100% sure since I couldn't see well the lower part of the basin turned to the wall). Apart from the square foot it looks like it is made of one piece of stone."
