The present font is made of course granite and consists of a plain roughly hemispherical basin raised on a round pedestal base in the shape of a truncated cone, with a broad widening or moulding at the bottom; the upper rim side has evident repairs in dark cement; the wooden cover is round and plain. Our local source, Joost Limburg [www.romanicoportugal.info] [e-mail of 10 December 2014], writes: "It has a central draining hole with a later-added division", on the inside of the basin well.
