There is an entry for this Caldecote in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SP3594/caldecote/] [accessed 1 December 2014]; it reports a priest but does not mention a church in it, though there probably was one there. The Victoria County History (Warwick, vol. 4, 1947) notes: "There was a priest at Caldecote in 1086. [...] The chancel and nave are of late-13th-century date. The remainder is modern. The church was restored in the 19th century [...] The font is modern. (It is claimed that the remains of a 12th-century font in the grounds at Ansley Hall belonged to this church.)" [cf. Index entry for Ansley]. English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP3487295124] (1968) reports: "Font has octagonal stem and round bowl, both with foliage bosses."
