Noted and illustrated in Dallasta (2011, c2003) as a baptismal font of a composite nature, made up in 1960 of re-used materials dating from the 11th and/or 12th centuries, probably an ancient 'ambone'; the author suggests they are contemporary with the fabric of the cathedral church of Parma: "sia presso la Badia Cavana, presso Lesignano de' Bagni"; two of the four sides of the made-up font are two Evangelists (Matthew and Mark); the other two sides a blessing cleric and a griffin with a dove. There is no font cover present now by there is one metal staple left at the rim of the basin as witness of an old cover. [TO BE COMPLETED ON-SITE]
