Described and illustrated in SIPA [www.monumentos.pt/Site/APP_PagesUser/SIPA.aspx?id=22239] [accessed 17 November 2014]: "A [p]ia baptismal e de água benta junto ao portal axial devem datar do séc. 16, a primeira relativamente de pequenas dimensões, decorada inferior e superiormente por torçal e sobre pé com chanfros e elemento decorativo enrolado nos ângulos." [=the baptismal font and the holy-water stoup located by the entranceway date probably from the 16th century; the font is relatively small, decorated with torsade mouldings around the upper and lower rims, raised on a pedestal base with chamfered corners and ornamental motifs at the angles]. The font consists of a bucket-shaped basin decorated as indicated above, with what appear to be flat ribbing pattern between the rope mouldings, though the ribing is just the space between vertical grooves on the sides of the basin; raised on a square pedestal base with chamfered angles and spurs at the lower ends. No font cover present but there are traces of cover hardware and related damage around the upper rim. The basin is badly worn and has several large cracks in it; there appears to be no drain hole in the basin now, but it may have been cemented over.
