Miller (1890) writes: "The church at Middle Littleton is dedicated to St. Nicholas. [...] The church has been restored and considerably rebuilt. The north doorway is of the 13th century. [...] The font is Norman and is richly ornamented." English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP0805746990] (1959) reports a "Norman round font" here. In Pevsner (1968) as a Norman font somewhat like the one at Suckley [cf. infra]. Described and illustrated in the CRSBI (2014): "the font bears Romanesque sculpture [...] Circular bowl with slightly tapering sides on a cylindrical stem and square base and plinth, of later date. Lead-lined. Around the bowl is a band of lozenges containing various geometric patterns within two rows of opposing zigzag, executed with incised lines showing clean, vertical cuts. Below is a shallow cable moulding. There are two repairs at the rim. [...] The only other font in Worcester to bear such deeply incised decoration is at Aston Somerville, 10 km to the S, although the motifs are different. Pevsner compares the present font with that at Suckley, but the lozenges on the latter are crudely chip-carved and asymmetrical, lacking the precision of the work at Middle Littleton."
