Baptismal font made of sandstone; it consists of a cylindrical basin decorated with a broad band of quatrefoil foliage and floral motifs, in a variety of arrangements and sizes, sandwiched between double bands of rope motif (paired left-and-right); the base consists of a broad central shaft and four outer animal bodies arranged at 90-degree angles; the animals are probably intended to be rampant lions, as one of them has four spindly extremities scarcely noticeable, but the rendering makes them look like caricature dragons, one of which is broken off; there are other spots of damage on the font, markedly around the upper rim. The font is one of three on permanent display at the Ostfriesisches Landesmuseum Emden, two of which are labeled as being from Marienwher [cf. Index entry for Marienwehr No. 1 for the other font]. The museum label describes the font as being of the Bentheim type, and relates it to those at Arle, Hage, Hatzum, Marienhafe and Riepe.
