This is the second baptismal font on permanent display at the Oldenburg Schloss location of the Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte, in Oldenburg [cf. BSI entry for Wiarden for the other font in this museum]. The font consists of an octagonal basin the sides of which are decorated with a band of fleur-de-lis and varied tracery below; the tracery includes pointed quatrefoils with and without inserts of triquetra, quatrilobe motifs, quatrefoils, etc.; the underbowl is part of the same piece and it has graded mouldings; the short base is a plain octagonal stem. The upper rim is much damaged and has probably had a section lopped off at the top. No cover present.
