There are two entries for Skerne [variant spelling] in the Domesday Survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/TA0455/skerne/] [accessed 1 August 2014]; neither entry mentions a church or cleric in it. English Heritage [Listing NGR: TA0466155116] (1966) notes: "Church. C12 nave and chancel, C15 west tower. C19 vestry and south porch. [...] C19 octagonal font." [NB: we have no information on the font of the 12th-century church here].
