Upcott (1818) lists a plate, "drawn by B. Gale, and engraved by J. Taylor", of the "East View of St. Augustine's Monastery, built Anno 1331; taken down and demolished Anno 1796, p. 19", in Kingston upon Hull. Cooke (1802-1829) writes: "The remains of the Monastery of St. Augustine have been removed, the shambles better arranged, and the market-place rendered more open and airy."
