Noted in the Parish web site [www.kirche-hiddensee.de/index.html] [accessed 26 July 2014]. The white-and-blue painted font and the fat angel above are apparently a combination used for baptisms; the angel is brought down via a pulley; both are dated to the mid-18th century. There is no information available on the earlier font here but there is an interesting object on the step of the presbitery, close to the present font, roughly cylindrical with a thick roll moulding atop, that looks suspiciously like a medieval font base. Is it?
