Noted in Mackeprang (1941) as a font from south Fyn [Funen/Fünen], "Sydfynske type - Øgruppen Fyn". The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a row of Latin crosses and floral motifs alternating around the sides; the underbowl has an acanthus vine [does it have serpent motifs in it?]; on a short round stem and a square lower base. This village is not far from Hürup, with an interesting font too, but the two fonts are quite different. Polygonal wooden crown-shaped font cover painted; was donated by Jens Owesen and Jes Börnsen in 1692, as the inscription on it attests [full text not available but it could be the German version of Mark 16: 16 ["He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved"]].
