Noted in Otte (1883- ) with date 1501. The font consists of an octagonal basin with tapering sides beneath a thick upper rim moulding; the sides and underbowl are decorated with tracery, including trefoiled arch-heads; the pedestal base is also octagonal, splaying out, and made of a close weave resembling that of a basket; octagonal lower base or plinth. There is no font cover apparent but there appears to be evidence of anchoring in the rim. The font is said to have stood outside the church for many years. [NB: is the date 1501 carved somewhere on the font?]
