Workshop/Group/Artisan: Gotland font?
Font Notes:
Baptismal font made of two unmatched parts: a crude and plain granite basin of roughly hemispherical shape, raised on a limestone (?) base of quatrefoil shape, decorated with heads on the upper part; the heads are mixed, animal and human; one is a ram's, another a man with head covering; a third is also human. The font has no cover evident but includes a metal bracket inside for the support of a baptismal dish. The font is said locally to have been made on Gotland, but it is not clear whether the two parts constituted the original font; probably not. The font is now located in the chancel, not likely to have been its original location.
