Noted and illustrated in Carolina's Collection of Castles, Churches and Curiosities [http://www.hic-sunt-dracones.de/CCC2/feldkirche_h.html] [accessed 19 September 2023] as a Romanesque baptismal font in the chancel. Baptismal font said to be of basalt; it consists of a roughly hemispherical basin with an arcade of round arch-heads deeply carved on the sides; above the arcade and in its spandrels are floral and/or foliage motifs [NB: there are parts of the upper sides that are plain; not certain whether originally left uncarved, or a result of damage and repairs]. As is common in these parts, a baptismal dish is used for baptisms, and the font has a metal frame or bracket on it to hold the dish in place.
