Noted in Haupt (1888): "Der grosse Taufstein h 1,09 dm 0,90 spätgotisch, schwarzer Kalkstein, aus Lith oder Bupsee oder Trindermarsch (Nordstrand), ist friesischer Form wie der in Tating (Eid.)" The font consists of an octagonal basin with a moulded upper rim and a rounded underbowl; raised on an octagonal pedestal base decorated with multiple mouldings.
