A bucket-shaped stobe basin that may have been used as baptismal font [or not]; it has a large face or mask carved on the side; crude work; it has been used as a water trough for animals for many years. Reported by Alvaro Herrero [alv.herrero@estudiante.uam.es] to the Amigos del Romanico list, as found in his family property in the area of Sayago, a hamlet called Roelos, and a rural chapel, Ermita de San Sebastian: "Mis abuelos murieron hace pocos años y hace unas semanas fui a su casa, en la comarca de Sayago, a limpiar aquello. The object looks possible, but it would have been a very crude work by a local stone worker. BSI has asked the sender for further information on the object, its provenance, location, measurements, etc. [e-mail of 6 June 2014] Author replied [e-mail of 23 June 2014] with further info and REQUESTS RECORD BE MASKED TO PROTECT THE FONT FROM THEFT] RECORD 'MASKED' [i.e., "notBSI"].
