Pancford appears in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/TG3325/dilham/] [accessed 28 April 2014], but the name is modernised to Panxworth in the transcription. Blomefield (1805-1810), however, accounts for a 'Pancforda' in one of the entries for Dilham: "Terre Alani Comitis—In Dilham, et in Pancforda", "Panceford, a hamlet, probably, to Dilham", in the hundred of Tunstede. There is no mention of a church in it in either source, and the hamlet has now disappeared. [cf. Index entry for Dilham]. [NB: Pancford is not identfied with present Panxworth, a village outside Ranworth, even though the spelling 'Pancford' may also be an alternate form used for Panxworth].
