Heraldic stoup of the 15th century; appears monolithic; basin is roughly square at the top, taking the shape of shield at the front, where it bears the coat of arms of the dukes of Bourbon; pedestal is square, chamfered at the angles of the stem; the basin has an odd projection at the back. Reported in an oral presentation by Georges de Soultrait to the 21st session of the 1854 Congrès archéologique de France: "bénitier du XVe. siècle porte les armes de Bourbon". Both the stoup and an ugly font of unknown date in this church are illustrated in Traces d'Ancêtres en Bourbonnais [http://genealogie.aufauvre.pagesperso-orange.fr/lieux_communes/lieu_montmarault.htm] [accessed 9 February 2014].
