Baptismal font of stone illustrated in the Association des Amis de l’Église de Marchais-en-Brie [www.eglise-marchaisenbrie.com/galerie/] [accessed 29 May 2016]: "Eglise composée d’une nef, flanquée de deux collatéraux, d’un transept et d’un chœur. Le chœur est du XIIIe siècle ainsi que le transept. La nef et ses bas-côtés sont de la fin du XVe siècle. [...] Les fonts baptismaux sont du XVe siècle." The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with graded moulding below the upper rim, a moulding around its middle, and a pattern of arches (?) or frets below; on a plain cylindrical pedestal and an octagonal lower base decorated with a moulding; on an octagonal plinth; the font is in bad state or repair, very eroded. There is a wooden font cover standing againts the wall behind the font, also in poor repair: an octagonal frame with a round lid; appears modern.
