A round-capital shaped vessel raised on a plain cylindrical pedestal base around the sides are Christ and the Apostles, each holding his symbol in the left hand, the right raised palm forward. The item looks like a stoup; modern. Noted and illustrated in Visites Aquitaine [http://visites.aquitaine.fr/fonts-baptismaux-de-l-eglise-saint-cyprien-d-ossas] [accessed 8 December 2013], where it is described as a baptismal font (!) decorated with a figure of Our Lord repeated around the basin: "L’église Saint-Cyprien d’Ossas conserve ses fonts baptismaux décorés qui proposent un bel exemple d’artisanat basque. Les fonts baptismaux de l’église d’Ossas sont constitués d’une cuve totalement circulaire reposant sur un pied plein en forme de colonne. Ils sont ornés de la même statue reproduite plusieurs fois afin de ceinturer la cuve. Elle représente le seigneur tenant sa main droite ouverte et dirigée vers les fidèles en signe de bénédiction." If the figure holding the chalice is Christ, the one to the right [Christ's left] is Peter, holding a large key in his left hand. The retable of this 19th-century church appears to be 17th-century; was there an earlier church here? was it brought from elsewhere?
