Baptismal font consisting of a cylindrical basin decorataed with a single moulding, above which is a carved running inscription in French; part of the upper rim has been damaged, with sections of the inscription missing; the basin rests on four cylindrical columns, plain but for the mouldings that make up the capitals and bases. The wooden cover is a low dome provided with a lock. Noted and illustrated in Visites Aquitaine [http://visites.aquitaine.fr/fonts-baptismaux-de-l-eglise-saint-caprais] [accessed 8 December 2013]: "Les fonts baptismaux de l’église de Carsac sont constitués d’une cuve cylindrique, posée sur quatre colonnes stylisées, avec une base, un fut et un chapiteau très sobres. La cuve contient l’eau bénite utilisée lors de la cérémonie du baptême. Elle est ornée dans sa partie supérieure d’une inscription en partie effacée. Elle est protégée par un couvercle en bois pouvant fermer à clé."
