La petite chapelle qui s'ouvre sur la face nord daterait du début du 16e siècle, ainsi que le portail d'entrée." Visites Aquitaine notes: "La construction de l’église Saint-Girons a nécessité soixante-dix années de chantier, de 1464 à 1534 [...] l’église Saint-Girons de Monein est aussi la plus grande église du Béarn."
Baptismal font consisting of a hemispherical basin with a broad flat moulding all around below the upper rim, raised on a short round pedestal base; the outer surface of the basin is painted; the base may be a replacement. As noted in the source below, a font much too plain for what is effectively the largest Gothic church in the Béarn. Noted and illustrated in Visites Aquitaine [http://visites.aquitaine.fr/fonts-baptismaux-de-l-eglise-de-monein] [accessed 1 December 2013]: "fonts baptismaux paraissent bien simples. Posée sur un très court fût cylindrique, la vasque hémisphérique est en pierre taillée et creusée, avec pour décor un simple ressaut dans sa partie supérieure, et une peinture décorative sur la face externe."
