Font Notes:
Object that appears to be a wall-mounted holy-water stoup: small hemispherical basin partly built into a wall; above it is a wooden closet-like space the doord of which opens to give access to the water. It is noted and illustrated in Visites Aquitaine [http://visites.aquitaine.fr/fonts-baptismaux-de-l-eglise-de-lahourcade] [accessed 1 December 2013] however, as a baptismal font: "Ces fonts, contrairement au modèle fréquent constitué d’une cuve sur pied, sont entièrement intégrés à la maçonnerie des murs. La vasque, creusée dans une pierre grise, est scellée et presque totalement engagée dans le mur, dans une niche. Cette niche creusée dans la paroi est fermée par une porte en bois avec serrure, et encadrée par une moulure formant une arcade en plein cintre. Un motif de croix vient en amortissement. This source reports a 14th-century holy-water stoup in this church [cf. Index entry for Lahourcade No. 2]. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 12th-century church here].
