Church Notes: monastery church started in 1393; completed 1512; abandoned 1562 and unused until 1684; 1684-1782 served as parish church; restored in 1872, 1938, 1954, 1987, 2010;
The present font, like the altar, dates from the renovation of 1872; it is made of wood and consists of an octagonal basin with mouldings and tracery on the sides, raised on a slender cotagonal pedestal case with window tracery on the sides, and a moulded lower base of the same shape. Matching wooden cover, low pyramidal with a floral finial. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font here].
