Described and illustrated in Lampe & Willing (2012): octagonal wooden font of a common 17th-century design, the type where the basin uses a metal bowl insert; the sides have verrtical scroll ribs at the angles; it has an inscription with the German text from Matthew 28:19 ["Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"] around the upper basin sides [NB: the German text is a variation of Luther's version: "Darum gehet hin und lehret alle Völker und taufet sie im Namen des Vaters und des Sohnes und des heiligen Geistes"]; there is charged shield on each side, with a painted legend below identifying the arms on each; mouldings around the basin and also on the base.
