Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM22000816] as a monolithic holy-water stoup made of granite and partly embedded in the bell-tower wall: "bénitier [...] [...] Cuve monolithe avec mascarons aux quatre angles, un seul étant entièrement visible, les trois autres étant dissimulés en tout ou partie dans la maçonnerie des murs du clocher." Topic-Topos [http://fr.topic-topos.com/benitier-pleslin-trigavou] [accessed 29 October 2013] informs that this object is now located in the porch of the tower of the church of Saint-Pierre de Pleslin serving as holy-water stoup; it consists of a rather crude basin of roughly cylindrical shape with protrusions at 90-degree angles, one of wich is carved as a mask resembling a human face; its pair, at the front, appears to be blank, and the others are built into the back wall and therefore not visible [NB: cf. supra]; on the underbowl, and part of the basin block, are the capitals of the supports of the base, and there are ball motifs, some broken off, below the lower rim of the basin; the two from colonnettes appear to be modern replacements of the originals; the back has no columns but a squarish block that is, like the back of the basin, partly built into the wall. There are several spots of wear on the upper rim, locally attributed to the font being used by the locals to sharpen farming tools on it to wish for a better harvest [="Les rebords de la vasque sont usés, car les moissonneurs faisaient bénir leurs faux et faucilles en les affûtant sur le bénitier afin d'obtenir des récoltes abondantes."] This font appears to be a 'poor cousin' of the baptismal font in Pleslin Saint-Pierre: whereas in the Pleslin font the front 'pods' are fully carved into naks or heads, here only one is; the sides are plain here but they are carved with round arches and lozenge pattern on the Pleslin font.
