The present font is chalice-shaped; it consists of an octagonal basin with carved sides and a rounded underbowl tapering to a carved ring moulding and splaying pedestal base, also octagonal; the upper surface of the basin has an inscription on it. The font is now mounted on casters so it can be rolled about conveniently inside the church. [NB: it has the appearance of stone, but may be painted wood -- we have no information on the font of the medieval church here].
