Font Notes:
Basin of a baptismal font, a tapering bowl decorated with a moulding at the upper rim and a ribbed pattern all around the sides and underbowl. It stands on a base that is now buried into the flooring. The stone is badly eroded and deteriorated, probably from extended exposure to the elements. The present church is 18th-century. It is quite likely that the old font may have been originally at the nearby Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Canteces, now in ruins, a rural chapel of the Romanesque period; this large chapel or church had parroquial functions until the completion of San Miguel's in the 18th-century.
