Church Notes: original church here is 18thC, re-built in the 1970s; several items in it have come from other churches in town (not known where the font is from); the town was a strategic centre from the 12thC to the 15thC -- good retable with Childhood of Christ scenes, sculptures from the 13thC through the 18thC

Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical shape raised on a short round base that appears to be part of the same block; totally plain; a metal reinforcement girdle has been fitted around the upper sides probably in an attempt to remedy the large crack on the sides. The font appears medieval or late-medieval and does not match the late date of this church. There is one other font in this church [image not available cf. www.flickr.com/photos/rabiespierre/4540531721] [accessed 13 Septemver 2013], of later date and bearing an inscription around the basin side -- to be completed]
