Font Notes:
Marillier (1887) refers to a "Procès verbal de la visite de Saint-Jean extrait du cahier des visites de l'archidiaconé d Avallon", a visit that took place on 29 November 1667 and found both the font and the chrism vesseld in goo order [="Nous avons encor visité les fonds baptismaux et les vaisseaux des saintes onctions que nous avons trouvé en bon estat"]. A visit to this church twenty-three years later, "1690. Procès verbal de la visite faite par Jean de Montleurain, curé de Lormes et archiprêtre de Corbigny", on 24 August 1690", found the font and its water in good order near the entrance to the church, on the right side, in an appropriate enclosure [="la visite des fonts baptismaux que nous aurions trouvés à l'entrée de l'église du côté droit, par l'ouverture et l inspection desquels nous aurions reconnu l'eau baptismale et le bassin qui la contient être assez propres. Et près des fonts, nous aurions trouvé dans l'épaisseur des murs de ladite église, la piscine fermant à clef ainsi que lesdits fonts baptismaux." The visit report notes that the confessional is locate opposite the font.
