Church Notes: original church here built in the 13th century but demolished in the 18th century; new Baroque church built in 1724; re-built in 1850; badly damaged in WWI; reconstructed; re-consecrated in 1981
There are no remaing old fonts from the churches on this site since the 13th century; the present font is modern, in brownish marble, octagonal from top to bottom; an inscription gilded around the lower sides of the basin: "Wer da gläubet und getauft wird", from Bach's cantata BWV 37.
