Marillier (1887) refers to a "Procès verbal de la visite de l'église Sainte-Seine, extrait du cahier des visites de l'archidiaconé d'Avallon", visit that took place on 28 November 1667 and found the baptismal font and the holy chrism vessels in good shape [="Nous avons visité les fonds baptismaux qui se sont trouvés en bon estat et de mesme les vaisseaux des saintes onctions"]. A later visit, conducted at 7 am on Saturday, 15 May 1700, "par Claude-Nicolas de Bart, chanoine d'Autun, archidiacre d'Avallon", recommended that a railing be built around the baptismal font [="Qu'on fera faire une balustrade autour des fonts baptismaux"]. The present font in this church is made of pink marble, with a copper lid; 18th-century [NB: we have no information on the baptismal font from the early-12th century church here]
