Font Notes:
The baptismal font here is described and illustrated in Petit Patrimoine [www.petit-patrimoine.com/fiche-petit-patrimoine.php?id_pp=89068_12] [accessed 19 August 2013]: "La chapelle des fonts baptismaux, élevée au 14e siècle, fut rebâtie de 1851 à 1853 sous la direction de l’architecte Amé. The font consists of an octagonal basin raised on an octagonal pedestal base; the basin has a protruding upper rim bearing a Latin inscription in gilded lettering [text from Matthew 28: 19: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"]; the chamfer below is decorated with foliage and fruit, probably acanthus and arum; the sides of the basin have symbols and motifs [cf. supra] inscribed in roundels or tetrafoils; Agnus Dei with cruciferous nimbus inside a quatrefolil; to its left is Matthew's angel in a circle; to its right John's eagle in a circle; etc.; the sides of the pedestal base have three rectagonal windows on each; the lower base splays slightly. The wooden cover is octagonal and slightly curved on the top, decorated with gilded hinges and provided with a lock. The font and cover are painted in bright colours, green the predominant hue as background. The font is probably late, of the 19th-century reconstruction. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 12th-century church here]
