Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with tapering rounded underbowl, decorated with a low-relief pattern of floral and foliage motifs; raised of a moulded octagonal pedestal base. Metal cover of conical shape with a crossed Rho as finial [not the more common Chi-Rho symbol]. The [www.ev-kirchengemeinde-wiesenburg.de/kirchen.htm] [accessed 18 July 2013] site gives the date of the sandstone font as ca. 1400 and the capacity of the basin as seventy liters; the cover is dated 1958, made by Hoess, a local coppersmith [NB: this information is given also in the German Wikipedia entry for the church [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Marien_(Wiesenburg)] [accessed 1 November 2023]].
