Baptismal font of a common type on the island, dating probably from the 17th century; it consists of a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a round baluster pedestal base, on a round to square lower base. The font is carved and painted over; the basin sides are decorated with a plain vine or line going over and under bunches of fruit on the sides; the baluster stem is decorated with four human busts at 90-degree angles; all remaining spaces are painted with foliage motifs. A wooden cover was on the font on our May 2018 visit to the church; the wooden ornate cover appears to be of the same period as the font, now restored but still extremely fragile. [cf. Index entries for Hejnum No. 1 & 3 for the other fonts in this church].
