Church Notes: church inventoried in Mérimée [ref.: IA24000412]: " 12e siècle [...] 14e siècle [...] Ancien prieuré dépendant de l'abbaye du Peyrat, l'église de Celles devient paroissiale en 1382. Nef et choeur semblent dater du 12e siècle avec deux campagnes de constructions distinctes. Les contreforts occidentaux et le portail sont des ajouts du 14e siècle, époque à laquelle l'édifice est fortifié. Au 19e siècle, il est entièrement restauré par Lambert
Font Notes:
Baptismal font consisting of a plain oval basin with a partitioned inner well: half of the would will be drained, the other half divided into two parts, one to hold the holy water, the other to hold the holy oils, etc.; raised on a round pedestal base, also plain. Hardware from the old font cover is still present at the upper rim, one of the sides of the basin damaged due to it.
