White's Directory of 1850 reports: "The Church (St. George,) is an ancient structure, with a tower and five bells [...] contains a Norman font". The National Gazetteer of 1868 notes a font without giving a period for it: "The church, dedicated to St. George, is an ancient structure, with a square embattled tower containing five bells. The interior has a font". The present font dates from the Butterfield restoration of 1874-1875. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font here].
