Church Notes: church founded by two Englishmen in 1175, and dedicated to St. Thomas of Canterbury only five years after his assassination; building underwent major restoration and changes in the 16thC

The present font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin with a pronounced rim moulding, raised on a round pedestal sanwiched between two square impost-like parts; the stem itself is decorated with incised ribbed pattern. The font is modern; the basin has no drain or old cover anchors. [NB: we have no information on the font from the original late-12th century church here].
