Scene Description: with a ceramic insert to hold the holy water, as found in many fonts in Spain these days -- notice the metal girdle at the upper rim; these are often used to prevent the basin from cracking or to repair those cracked; in this case, however, it appears to provide anchorage for a cover

Baptismal font made of coarse granite, consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin raisedon a round moulded pedestal base. The basin has a metal girdle around the upper rim; these are often used to prevent the basin from cracking or to repair those cracked; in this case, however, it appears to provide anchorage for a cover that is not in evidence.
