Church Notes: a church in Kerity appears in the charters of the abbeys of Saint-Riom and Beauport, the first church here belonging to Saint-Riom in the late-12thC, donated to Beauport in 1202 to which it belonged until the Revolution

Nothing remains of the original 12th-century church here, or of its 16th-century re-building; the latter was demolished in the mid-19th century, and a new church built on a different site. The new church has a north aisle altar dedicated to to Our Lady of Beauport, a modern oval font made of pink marble and topped with a brash low-dome cover, a large stoup consisting of hexagonal basin with graded sides, one of which is adorned with a blank shield, raised on an unrelated base [NB: this stoup may be of an earlier date than the church itself, though not old enough to have belonged to either of the two earlier churches here (12thC and 15thC); in some local descriptions of this church it is reported as a "hexagonal font", which it is not]; there is one other stoup inside the church but it cannot make claims to any antiquity. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original church here].
