17th-century baptismal font reported in this church [http://wikimapia.org/18768009/Ore-Church] [accessed 30 January 2013]: "The highly attractive building was erected in 1874, although there had been a church on the site since the Middle Ages. Of the medieval inventory surviving from an older building there is a carving of the Virgin with child, and images of Saints Christopher and Eric. The font was made in the seventeenth century. The altarpiece is an early eighteenth century work." The entry for this church in Svenska kyrkan [https://www.svenskakyrkan.se/Sve/Binärfiler/Filer/5d260c6f-7af5-4a82-909a-abedf67b97bd.pdf] [accessed 25 August 2021] notes that the present font was made of limestone in 1669 by Simon Hack, of Boda; it is octagonal and made of three blocks. The font is now [2016] located at the east end of the south aisle but an earlier photograph [cf. ImagesArea] shows it on the north side, always at the east end. [NB: we have no information on the font of the medieval church replaced by the present building].
