Located outside the rural chapel dedicated to St. John the Baptist is a font-like object of disconcerting appearance: the object consists of a roughly hemispherical basin mounted on a round pedestal base; from a distamce it resembles a baptismal font; the base has a thick roll moulding with a single knot in it; below it the surface is patterned in piping; the basin has a band of carving on the sides, and a ribbed pattern on the underbowl; the carving on the sides is recent, dated 1984 by an inscription; the subject matter is varied: bread, cheese, local musicians plaing the txistu, dancers, etc., all of them modern; the inner well of the basin presents a problem as well, having an inwards quadrangular protrusion that appears to be part of the original block, whereas the object on top, a stone jug, appears to have been added later. There is no mention of this object in the entry for this locality in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?-, vol. V*), although the rural chapel is listed. The carving on the basin side has a different work pattern from the rest of the ojbect. [cf. Index entry for Arbizu No. 1 for the baptismal font in the parish church].
